Amoxapine (Asendin®; Asendis®; Defanyl®; Demolox®; Moxadil®) occurs as tricyclic antidepressant of the dibenzoxazepine class. These are utilized in the coarse of action of depression, panic disorders and bipolar disorder.

Amoxapine occurs as hard re-uptake inhibitor of norepinephrine and weak re-uptake re-uptake inhibitor of serotonin. One of its major metabolite, 7-hydroxyamoxapine, has the dopamine receptor blocking effect.
